💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and development of integrated InP semiconductor lasers and SOAs for silicon photonic LiDAR systems at a cutting-edge NYC startup. Your work will directly enable long-range, high-resolution chip-scale LiDAR and shape the future of 3D sensing.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead integrated InP laser and SOA design for LiDAR systems.
• Design and simulate narrow-linewidth DFB, DBR, and external-cavity lasers.
• Own characterization and validation of light source performance.
• Manage III-V vendor relationships and supply chain strategy.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor laser design.
• Deep expertise in III-V edge-emitting lasers at 1310/1550 nm.
• Track record of integrating lasers into commercial products.
• Experience working with external foundry and packaging partners.

✨ Nice to Have

• Knowledge of III-V heterostructure design and epitaxial growth.
• Familiarity with co-packaging III-V with silicon photonics.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and simulation.
