Description

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead seismic compliance and certification for low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment, ensuring products meet regulatory standards. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage seismic qualification programs, and support structural design for internal equipment, skids, frames, and containerized solutions to enable market access and drive innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Structural or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis); Master's preferred
• Active PE license required; California licensure strongly preferred
• 5-10 years experience in structural engineering with focus on seismic design
• Strong knowledge of ICC-ES AC156, IBC, UBC, IEEE 693
• Experience with HCAi preapproval processes

Responsibilities

• Lead seismic compliance for low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment
• Plan, execute, and document seismic qualification programs per ICC-ES AC156, IBC, UBC, IEEE 693
• Manage HCAi seismic preapprovals for custom design-to-order equipment
• Design and optimize structural components (skids, frames, enclosures) within electrical equipment
• Support shake table testing and prepare technical reports and certification submittals
