💼 About This Role

You'll establish and scale Perplexity's London office, building a world-class engineering culture while directly managing infrastructure teams supporting AI/ML workloads. You'll serve as the face of the company in the London tech ecosystem, driving technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Establish and lead Perplexity's London office, setting cultural foundations and operating principles
• Directly manage and mentor infrastructure teams of 5-15+ engineers
• Set technical direction for infrastructure initiatives aligned with company goals
• Drive talent acquisition strategy and career development frameworks

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years experience in software engineering with 5+ years in infrastructure roles
• 3+ years people management experience including building and scaling teams
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and infrastructure automation
• Experience with GPU infrastructure, ML training pipelines, and model serving at scale

✨ Nice to Have

• Previous experience as a site lead or office lead
• Background in building infrastructure for LLM training or inference
• Active involvement in the London or European tech community
