💼 About This Role

You'll lead the team building Headway's benefits platform, the core system determining patient insurance coverage and provider reimbursement. Your work will enable millions of therapy appointments to happen smoothly by ensuring accurate, real-time claims. This role offers the chance to shape a platform central to a mission-driven mental healthcare company.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Manage a team of 4-5 engineers, hiring and coaching them
• Own the roadmap for the benefits platform in partnership with product
• Set technical standards and team culture for architecture and incident response
• Collaborate with leaders of claims, eligibility, billing, and payer partnerships

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience at senior or staff level
• Experience building robust systems that other teams depend on
• Ability to lead design reviews and push back on technical decisions
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or claims is a plus

✨ Nice to Have

• Machine learning fluency with eval loops and production ML systems
• Scaleup experience at Series B through D companies
