Description

You will plan and execute rolling upgrades across tens of thousands of ClickHouse clusters, own the full release pipeline from validation to incident response, and build internal tooling to make large-scale database operations reliable and automated. This role is an equal split between operational execution and software development, offering the satisfaction of both writing and executing the playbook.

Requirements

• 5+ years operating stateful distributed systems in production (databases, message queues, storage)
• Hands-on experience running upgrades on live production data stores at scale
• Strong production debugging skills under pressure
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes
• Software development experience in Go (or strong in another language and willingness to learn)

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute rolling upgrades across tens of thousands of ClickHouse clusters
• Own full release pipeline: pre-upgrade validation, staged rollouts, post-upgrade monitoring, and incident response
• Investigate and resolve production issues as part of on-call rotation
• Build and improve internal tooling and automation for database operations
• Work with core database and cloud infrastructure teams to identify and solve operational pain points
