Description

As a Development Engineer II specializing in Thermal Protection Systems, you'll design vehicle structures for extreme environments using advanced metallic and composite materials. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into detailed designs, conduct testing and analysis, and contribute to the development of the Neutron launch vehicle.

Requirements

• Aerospace, mechanical, or mechatronic engineering degree or equivalent
• 2-4 years of design experience in high-performance mechanical or thermal systems
• Strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and aerodynamics
• 2 years experience with CAD software and modelling tools
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation by creating conceptual designs in CAD for thermal protection systems
• Design composite assemblies, material stack-ups, joint details, seals, and metallic interfaces
• Lead creation of detailed drawing packages and assembly models with design-for-manufacture focus
• Own and manage analysis tools and methods for 1D, 2D, and 3D thermal performance analysis
• Design and implement test hardware and instrumentation for development testing and model validation
