Description

You will supervise housing staff attorneys in eviction prevention and housing matters, maintain a small caseload, and help implement NYC's Right to Counsel law. Work closely with the Housing Unit leadership to shape the direction of the unit and develop community partnerships.

Requirements

• Passion for social justice and commitment to low-income communities
• Excellent analytical and writing skills
• Experience with housing issues and advocacy
• Enthusiasm for partnering with community-based advocates
• Prior supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise housing staff attorneys in full range of housing matters
• Maintain a small caseload
• Review draft pleadings, motions, and court submissions
• Support filing of affirmative cases for tenants and tenant groups
• Shape direction of Housing Unit and identify systemic housing trends
