Description

You will lead the design and simulation of advanced photonic components using Lumerical and oversee PIC layout development in IPKISS or GdsFactory. This role involves driving innovation, mentoring junior engineers, and integrating photonic designs into broader system architectures in a fast-paced quantum computing startup.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
• 5+ years experience in photonics design, preferably in industry
• Proficiency in Lumerical and PIC layout tools (IPKISS, GdsFactory)
• Advanced programming in Python and proficiency with Git
• Proven project leadership and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Lead design and simulation of advanced photonic components using Lumerical
• Oversee PIC layout development in IPKISS, GdsFactory, or similar
• Drive innovation in photonic component design and contribute to PDK development
• Automate and enhance simulation workflows using Python
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
