🛠 Tech Stack

💼 About This Role

You'll own the CFD workflow for heat exchanger components at a company building productized nuclear plants. You'll drive thermal-fluid analysis from first-pass sizing through detailed geometry decisions, turning simulations into trade studies that directly inform hardware design. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership and continuous improvement of modeling speed and consistency.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Build and run CFD models for heat exchanger components and flow paths.
  • Drive pressure drop and heat transfer performance predictions and trade studies.
  • Develop a repeatable CFD workflow: geometry → mesh → solve → post-process → report.
  • Execute parametric sweeps and sensitivity analyses for rapid design iteration.

📋 Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on CFD experience in thermal-fluids applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one major CFD solver: ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or COMSOL.
  • Strong fundamentals in heat transfer and fluid mechanics.

✨ Nice to Have

  • M.S./PhD in a related field.
  • Multi-phase or boiling/condensing modeling experience.
  • Python-based automation of meshing/runs/post-processing.

🎁 Benefits & Perks

  • ⚛️ Work on cutting-edge nuclear energy
  • 🏢 Onsite in Austin, TX or Washington, DC
  • 📊 Hands-on CFD ownership
  • 🔬 Collaborate with mechanical design and systems engineering
