Description
You will support the Marine team by underwriting various marine classes (cargo, hull, inland marine, project cargo, and GL). Evaluate applications, determine coverage and pricing, and manage a portfolio of renewal and new business while collaborating with brokers and the underwriting team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of underwriting or related insurance experience.
- Marine underwriting background a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and execute pricing strategies to maintain profitability.
- Approve or decline insurance applications within authority limits and prepare referrals for excess risks.
- Manage own portfolio of renewal and new business.
- Collaborate with team to finalize coverage and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Document underwriting files with risk analysis and pricing justification.
