Description

You will design and build opto-mechanical systems for space payloads, from concept to launch, working on cutting-edge defense technology. You will own hardware design, run analyses, and ensure mission success.

Requirements

• BS or higher in engineering or hard science
• 5-10 years of mechanical design experience with space hardware
• Experience with exotic opto-mechanical materials
• Experience with high-reliability design and athermalization
• CAD proficiency (NX/Teamcenter preferred) and hands-on fabrication skills

Responsibilities

• Create opto-mechanical designs of space payloads
• Run finite element models and hand calculations for stress and thermal analysis
• Design payload mechanisms that survive launch and space environments
• Own hardware design from concept to launch
• Lead subsystem design reviews and provide status updates
