You'll lead the spin-up and ongoing operations of a new rodent vivarium at a neuroscience research company. You'll ensure regulatory compliance, develop SOPs, and manage daily husbandry to support optogenetics and advanced imaging programs. This role offers the chance to build a facility from the ground up in an early-stage environment.

๐ŸŽฏ What You'll Do

  • Secure site permits and regulatory registrations (USDA APHIS Class R, PHS Assurance).
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for husbandry, sanitation, and safety.
  • Oversee daily rodent husbandry, colony management, and inventory.
  • Coordinate with research staff on protocol scheduling and specialized setups.

๐Ÿ“‹ Requirements

  • 5+ years of vivarium or lab animal facility operations experience.
  • AALAS LAT certification required at hire.
  • Hands-on rodent husbandry and colony management knowledge.
  • Working familiarity with USDA APHIS, PHS Policy, OLAW, Guide for Care.

โœจ Nice to Have

  • Experience standing up a vivarium or securing USDA/OLAW/AAALAC registrations.
  • Familiarity with optogenetics and in vivo imaging workflows.
  • Experience with non-rodent species or NHP facilities.
