💼 About This Role

You'll manage a team of database specialists responsible for Verifone's core enterprise data platforms, including relational databases, NoSQL, Redis, and MongoDB, both on-prem and in AWS. You'll own reliability, performance, capacity planning, security, and compliance for the database estate. This high-impact role requires deep technical expertise and strong leadership.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead a team of DBAs and database engineers (1:1s, feedback, reviews, hiring).
• Prioritize team work across incidents, requests, maintenance, and projects.
• Run a sustainable on-call rotation with clear escalation paths.
• Develop and execute database strategy aligned with engineering and business objectives.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive database administration/management experience.
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing database teams.
• Deep expertise in relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience running Snowflake at scale.
• Experience with managed Redis and MongoDB (e.g., AWS ElastiCache, MongoDB Atlas).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible or similar IaC tools.
