Description

You will design large-scale distributed systems to detect and mitigate fraud across Airbnb's platform, building highly available real-time risk detection services. Collaborating with product, data science, and operations teams, you'll tackle evolving attack vectors to make Airbnb the safest and most trusted community.

Requirements

• 5-9+ years of industry experience
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
• Proficiency in backend languages (Java/Ruby/Kotlin etc.)
• Experience with service-oriented architectures and large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with platform architecture patterns
• Hands-on experience leading project teams and setting technical direction
• Experience with Trust and Risk domain

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate resilient and scalable distributed systems
• Build and evolve platform capabilities to tackle fraud attacks
• Provide critical input in Trust Platform’s team roadmap and technical direction
• Improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Trust Platform services
• Mentor other engineers
• Advance Airbnb’s engineering processes and technical foundations
