💼 About This Role

You'll own QA strategy and execution across web, API, and mobile at Backcountry, an outdoor e-commerce company. You'll establish Playwright as the primary automation framework and drive release validation for a weekly deployment cadence. This role offers accelerated ownership and hands-on AI-first tooling.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end testing lifecycle across web, API, and mobile platforms.
• Build and mentor a high-performing QA engineering team.
• Champion Playwright automation and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and track quality KPIs like defect density and release reliability.

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years of QA experience with 2+ years in a lead or senior IC role.
• Hands-on Playwright experience for web and API E2E automation.
• Strong automation fundamentals in Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Working proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java for test frameworks.

• E-commerce QA automation experience with CI/CD integration.
• Apple Pay automation or similar payment flow testing.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and ability to validate AI-generated code.
