Description

As a Software Engineer Intern at Roku, you will own a project contributing to making our emulation product available to external developers through AI assistants. You'll collaborate with engineers across functional areas, rebuild a Model Context Protocol server from scratch for public distribution, and work with modern technologies like Linux embedded C++, cloud backends, and web platforms.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
• Evidence of developing with TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js
• Familiarity with API design and development
• Strong software development mindset producing robust and tested open-source software
• Proactive mindset with passion for continuous learning and fast iteration

Responsibilities

• Own a project that contributes to making the emulation product available to external developers through AI assistants
• Collaborate with engineers across different functional areas to ensure robust delivery
• Build a community-ready Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Roku Cloud Emulator
• Rebuild internal proof-of-concept from scratch for public distribution
