💼 About This Role

You'll lead end-to-end risk management for Waymo's autonomous driving systems, overseeing issue intake, escalation, and retirement. You'll define and manage the risk management program to ensure compliance with international standards like ISO 31000. This role champions safety culture across the engineering organization, driving continuous improvement of Waymo's safety program.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead and execute end-to-end risk management for autonomous systems.
• Define and manage the program governing risk management and escalation.
• Drive discovery and retirement of issues across teams and product lifecycle.
• Oversee program compliance with international standards like ISO 31000.

📋 Requirements

• MS or higher in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of safety engineering experience in risk life-cycle.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety critical system design and systems engineering.
• Strong background in quantitative risk and data analysis.

✨ Nice to Have

• Expertise in delivering ASIL D certified products to market.
• Extensive experience in complex safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA).
• Knowledge of advanced safety standards like ISO 21448 (SOTIF).
