You'll lead the team that designs automated weather monitoring systems for Zipline's drone delivery operations. Your core impact is ensuring flight safety while meeting business goals, balancing risk and customer experience through real-time go/no-go decisions. You'll drive simulation-based validation and communicate weather constraints across teams.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and develop automated weather monitoring systems for real-time go/no-go decisions
• Define flyable weather requirements to achieve business performance goals
• Set pace on weather-related validation strategies using simulation and real-world data
• Drive development of ground- and air-based sensing for scalable risk calculations

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience
• Advanced proficiency with scientific Python and libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Matplotlib, XArray, NETCDF
• Familiarity with geospatial and meteorological datasets and tools
• Strong understanding of descriptive statistics, probability, and linear algebra

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes and/or AWS
• Experience with Kafka or other streaming data systems
• Experience with aircraft flight and aviation weather regulation
