You'll lead complex trade studies to define the architecture of Waymo's next-generation autonomous driving system. Your work will balance performance, reliability, and safety while collaborating across engineering teams. 🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead multi-attribute trade studies for next-gen architecture
• Analyze architectural options with focus on safety and fallback systems
• Drive alignment across software, hardware, sensing, and safety teams
• Define key system interfaces and behaviors

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in systems architecture or complex system design
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary trade studies
• Deep understanding of autonomous system components in at least one major area

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with functional safety (ISO 26262) and SOTIF (ISO 21448)
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
• Knowledge of reliability analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA)
