Description

You will oversee the Evening Schedule Aviation Maintenance program at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Norfolk, VA, coordinating daily operations, supervising faculty and staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role combines administrative leadership with hands-on instructional support, allowing you to shape the next generation of aircraft technicians.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree preferred
• FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
• Minimum 3 years related practical work experience in aviation maintenance (repair and installation)

Responsibilities

• Oversee Evening Schedule Aviation Maintenance program daily operations, faculty/staff supervision, and teaching assignments
• Partner with curriculum teams on course materials, scheduling, and training aids
• Manage faculty performance through hiring, evaluations, coaching, and mentoring
• Provide instructional support by substituting classes and tutoring students
• Ensure compliance with Department of Education, accreditor, and safety (OSHA) requirements
