💼 About This Role

You'll set the technical direction and own the hardest infrastructure problems as the most senior individual contributor on the DevOps team. You'll drive architecture for AppZen's cloud platform, own Kubernetes and datastore reliability, and lift the entire org through mentorship and design standards. Expect roughly 70-80% deep hands-on engineering and 20-30% technical leadership.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Set technical direction for cloud platform architecture
• Design and operate production PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch datastores
• Evolve Kubernetes platform and CI/CD pipelines
• Drive observability, SLOs, and incident command for high-severity events
• Mentor senior engineers and lift the team through code reviews

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of DevOps/SRE/infrastructure experience
• Deep hands-on AWS expertise across compute, networking, IAM, data, and observability
• Production Kubernetes (preferably EKS) including upgrades, autoscaling, and multi-tenancy
• PostgreSQL at scale experience with query tuning, replication, HA, and version upgrades

✨ Nice to Have

• AI/ML or data-heavy SaaS workload experience (GPU fleets, vector stores)
• Service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) and progressive delivery (Argo Rollouts)
• FinOps at $5M+ annual cloud spend
