💼 About This Role

You'll build and lead a new threat research function at Illumio, driving product innovation and customer risk reduction by analyzing large-scale security datasets to uncover attacker behaviors and enhance breach containment. This role starts hands-on and grows into team leadership and external thought leadership.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define team charter, research roadmap, and success metrics.
• Transform security datasets into actionable product insights.
• Analyze threat data to uncover attacker TTPs and risks.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to enhance detection logic.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years in threat research, detection engineering, incident response, or threat intelligence.
• Proven track record of building or scaling a threat research capability.
• Deep expertise in attacker tradecraft and MITRE ATT&CK mapping.
• Experience working directly with Product and Engineering teams in a security product company.

✨ Nice to Have

• Background in graph-based analytics or network segmentation.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale telemetry analysis and detection engineering.
• Familiarity with data science or ML techniques applied to threat detection.
