Description

As Senior Data Science Manager for Insurance Platform, you will define and lead the data strategy for Headway's insurance ecosystem, ensuring accurate benefits, seamless claims processing, and a reliable path to care. You'll partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to use data to identify and resolve gaps that drive patient loss and operational cost, directly shaping analytics for one of the company's most complex domains.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in data science or analytics.
• 3+ years experience managing and developing teams.
• Proven cross-functional planning and execution skills.
• Deep expertise in measurement science and causal inference, especially Bayesian A/B testing.
• Hands-on technical fluency in SQL and Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of Data Scientists, fostering technical excellence and strategic thinking.
• Develop quarterly roadmaps with cross-functional partners and align Data Science resources.
• Drive insights through strategic analysis, reporting, predictive modeling, and experimentation.
• Architect a measurement framework for insurance accuracy across eligibility, pricing, claims, and reconciliation.
• Build proactive monitoring and alerting systems to shift from reactive firefighting to systematic loss prevention.
