💼 About This Role

You'll design and develop custom sensor systems for a global constellation of smart weather balloons. Your core impact will be expanding environmental data gathering capabilities to help eliminate weather uncertainty. This role offers the unique challenge of balancing meteorological-grade quality with cost optimization and extreme operating conditions.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own design and development of new sensors from concept to manufacturing.
• Characterize real-world sensor performance relative to theoretical limits.
• Develop calibration and validation processes for sensor hardware.
• Collaborate to update existing meteorological sensor hardware and calibration.
• Characterize and address sensor errors across design, calibration, and flight.

📋 Requirements

• Master's or higher degree in a STEM field
• Experience working on R&D
• Broad technical expertise spanning physics, EE, mechE, and CS
• Experience interfacing with sensor hardware and characterizing new data sources
• Proficiency in electrical prototyping (PCB design, soldering)

✨ Nice to Have

• PhD in experimental physics or electrical engineering
• Familiarity with analog electronics, signal processing, and RF systems
• Familiarity with Linux command line and bash
