Description
You will install, program, and commission DDC systems for HVAC equipment, lead a team of technicians, and ensure optimal performance of control systems for commercial and industrial clients. This role focuses on system optimization and energy efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC controls technician, with a focus on DDC systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and related equipment.
- Proficiency in programming and configuring DDC controllers (e.g., Niagara 4/ax, Johnson, Distech, Honeywell, etc.).
- Experience with integrating DDC systems with building management systems (BMS) and other automation platforms.
- Familiarity with network protocols and communication standards (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership abilities and experience in supervising and guiding a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Niagara 4, HVAC controls certifications, DDC programming certifications) are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission DDC systems for HVAC equipment, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and network devices.
- Conduct system testing, verification, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to design and implement control strategies and sequences of operations.
- Lead a team of technicians in performing installations, repairs, and upgrades of DDC systems.
- Conduct training sessions and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
- Perform regular system maintenance and preventive measures to ensure smooth operations and maximize system efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to DDC controls and HVAC systems.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including system configurations, changes, and updates.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC controls.
