Description

As a Bridge Engineer at Benesch, you will lead bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate design work with project managers. You'll work on vehicular and pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures across all project phases.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (MS preferred)
• PE License in Colorado or ability to obtain through reciprocity
• 5 to 10+ years of bridge design experience
• Experience working with CDOT and/or municipalities
• Strong organization and leadership skills
• Proven experience performing complex analysis and design
• Ability to assemble complete design packages and construction documents
• Experience with structural design software (Leap Bridge, LUSAS, Midas, OpenBridge a plus)
• Excellent communication and client relation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead engineer on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects
• Mentor junior staff
• Prepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for bridge design
• Assume responsibility for design calculation files and plans
• Manage compilation and coordination of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items per DOT standards
• Coordinate tasks with Project Manager
• Lead structural designers on bridge design and rehabilitation projects
