Description

You will perform code consulting services, building plan reviews, and fire protection engineering under the direction of experienced engineers. This role involves interpreting building codes, developing alternative solutions, and coordinating with design teams and authorities to ensure safety compliance.

Requirements

• At least two years of undergraduate schooling (Diploma of Technology or Bachelors of Engineering)
• 1 to 3 years of experience
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to write reports and respond to questions from architects and engineers
• Passion for advancing the science of safety

Responsibilities

• Perform code consulting services including life safety and performance-based fire engineering design
• Prepare Building Code Compliance Reports, Fire Code Compliance Reports, and Code Compliance Drawings
• Conduct building code analyses, egress analyses, and fire detection/alarm system reviews
• Apply engineering calculations for means of egress, building area, sprinkler water supplies, and smoke control
• Communicate with project team members, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction
