As an Interventionist Teacher at Amber Charter Schools, you will design and lead data-driven math instruction for at-risk middle school students, fostering an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. You will collaborate with colleagues, track student progress, and adjust instruction based on assessment data to ensure academic growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 years experience as an effective educator in a middle school setting focused in mathematics
• Experience in math intervention strategies
• Evidence of success advancing learning of academically at-risk students
• Familiarity with high-quality curriculum programs
• Comfort and confidence planning and implementing rigorous, engaging, and effective instruction
• Commitment to create and maintain a safe and responsive learning environment
• Capacity to develop strong relationships based on trust, respect, communication, and common goals
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple obligations, attention to detail, and excellent time management
• Strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Drive programs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Completion and pass pre-employment fingerprinting and reference check
• Legally eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Assume personal responsibility for academic progress of all students identified as at-risk and in need of math intervention.
• Implement a coherent, research-based curriculum aligned to content and grade-level scope and sequence.
• Modify, differentiate, and extend learning experiences to engage all students, integrating intervention support.
• Provide direct support and collaborate with colleagues to address needs of at-risk learners.
• Document syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials.
• Maintain accurate records including session notes, trackers, and logs of academic and behavioral interventions.
• Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students.
• Implement methods to promote a student-led and student-centered classroom.
• Track student proficiency and progress using formative and summative assessments.
• Analyze assessment results to inform and adjust instruction.
• Provide ongoing and timely feedback to students on progress.
• Use student data to reflect on lesson effectiveness and improve instruction.
• Assess students with respect to proficiency and academic risk factors using appropriate measures.
• Teach and encourage development of AMBER core values.
• Develop and maintain a warm and firm learning environment.
• Establish, model, practice, and reinforce developmentally-appropriate rules and behaviors.
• Formulate and implement behavioral management plans with individual students as needed.
