💼 About This Role

You'll design core components of Alluxio's distributed file and object-access layer, optimizing cache and metadata consistency across thousands of nodes in multi-region, multi-cloud environments. You'll build scalable metadata and coordination systems enabling high-throughput data I/O for AI and analytics workloads at global scale. This is a hands-on architecture-plus-implementation role for engineers who love deep systems work in a small, senior team.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Optimize caching and metadata management across thousands of nodes.
• Design concurrent, fault-tolerant services for multi-cloud environments.
• Evolve storage abstraction for large-scale AI/ML data pipelines.
• Collaborate with product teams to push distributed I/O performance.

📋 Requirements

• Professional experience developing in Java, C++, or Go.
• Deep understanding of concurrency, replication, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Experience with distributed storage, data-access layers, or cloud infrastructure (e.g., Spark, Presto, Hadoop, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
