Description
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer at SpaceX, you'll design and maintain critical IT systems for Starship launch pads, including physical cabling, network hardware, and data center environments. You'll collaborate with launch controls teams to ensure reliable connectivity for vehicle commanding and telemetry, working in extreme environments to support high-cadence launches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other STEM discipline
- Experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining system-level communication architectures in large campuses or industrial facilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and incorporate design changes quickly
- Project management skills including schedule development, writing scopes of work, and reading construction drawings
- Experience supervising crews of technicians/contractors to execute designs
Responsibilities
- Design, install, and maintain physical cabling, network hardware, and data center environments for mission critical control networks
- Monitor network health, troubleshoot issues, and determine root cause
- Perform job walks with customers, vendors, and contractors to gather requirements and create project implementation plans
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers across programs to create scalable and maintainable products
- Participate in day-to-day operation of IT systems during critical launch windows
