💼 About This Role

You'll lead backend and edge/IoT engineering for critical work streams in our Defence business unit, implementing robust, scalable patterns. You'll bridge the gap between machine learning research and production-grade software, mentoring peers and delivering high-impact solutions.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build backend and edge/IoT components
• Scope and execute bounded technical problems for fast delivery
• Mentor and pair with fellow engineers
• Collaborate with ML/Data Science teams to operationalize AI tooling

📋 Requirements

• Strong experience in application development and modern system architecture
• Proven track record shipping code in Python and a compiled language (Rust, C++, Go, C#, Java)
• Highly skilled in DevOps practices including GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and production management
• Experience with agentic software development

• Experience in defence sector
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or bare metal deployments
