💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and validation of advanced optical sub-components for Aeva's coherent LiDAR technology. Your work will directly impact perception systems for automated driving and robotics. You'll mentor junior engineers and influence architectural decisions across multiple programs.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead optical modeling and simulation including beam propagation and tolerance analysis.
• Develop requirements and specifications for optical components.
• Conduct system-level analyses for manufacturability and robustness.
• Generate and document intellectual property related to optical systems.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's with 10+ years experience or Master's with 6+ years or PhD with 3+ years experience.
• Proven experience driving optical designs from proof-of-concept to production.
• Strong proficiency with ZEMAX, Code V, or FRED simulation tools.
• Expertise in tolerance analysis, stray-light, and scattering analysis.

✨ Nice to Have

• Hands-on laboratory skills for optical subsystems testing.
• Knowledge of optical fabrication processes (molded, polished, diamond-turned).
