Description

As a Senior Gameplay Designer at 2K Sports Lab, you will own a gameplay area, defining the vision and leading a cross-functional team of engineers and animators to deliver authentic sports behaviors. You'll manage backlogs, steer implementation, and champion the player experience to build a next-generation sports franchise.

Requirements

• Passion for sports and sports video games
• Experience designing high quality ‘second-to-second’ game experiences
• Experience with systemic game design
• Experience leading a feature team (7+ developers)
• Experience working with Animation SEs and Animators, familiar with animation technology (blend techniques, masking, procedural animation)
• Appetite for Product Owner responsibilities (backlog management and prioritization)
• Positive, proactive, hands-on demeanor

Responsibilities

• Be the ‘Product Owner’ for your gameplay area
• Acquire intimate knowledge of target player, product goals, and competitive landscape
• Define vision for gameplay area with Gameplay Design Director
• Lead team with producer and tech peers, drive backlog generation and prioritization
• Collaborate with QA to test game experience
• Craft designs that execute on feature visions
• Steer implementation of gameplay vision with engineers and animators
• Champion player experience in all decisions
• Inspire and align team on vision
• Present visions to team and share design material
• Implement vision with engineers, animators, and artists
• Create positive, inclusive, collaborative environment
• Be an individual contributor when time allows
