Description

As a Middle School ELA Teacher at Achievers Early College Prep, you will design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards, use data to refine instruction, and employ techniques for student engagement. You will be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
• Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress
• Expert in content knowledge in English Language Arts
• Extensive knowledge of ELA interventions (e.g., guided reading, small group instruction)
• Experience/comfort with online applications to enhance learning

Responsibilities

• Design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
• Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Receive weekly coaching and commit to growing and strengthening practice
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
• Implement multiple techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
