Description

You'll lead Glyphic's Data Science function, setting ML strategy for a novel nanopore-based protein sequencing platform and building the team's culture and infrastructure. You'll work cross-functionally with assay development, chemistry, and automation teams, acting as a player-coach who is both hands-on with technical work and responsible for team growth.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in quantitative field (CS, EE, Computational Biology, etc.)
• 10+ years post-academic experience in omics (genomics, proteomics, etc.)
• 4+ years managing technical teams with hiring responsibility
• Deep expertise in sequencing data analysis, ML for biological data, or pipeline infrastructure
• Solid understanding of signal processing, classification, and ML (transformers, CNNs, RNNs)

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for ML model development (amino acid classification, signal segmentation, temporal modeling)
• Own roadmap for data infrastructure (pipeline automation, data lake, metadata standards)
• Manage a team of data scientists and engineers, fostering rigorous analysis culture
• Translate wet-lab goals into computational strategies and vice versa
• Champion AI coding and analysis tools across the organization
