💼 About This Role

You'll own the design validation and NPI test process for custom actuator systems at a human-centered robotics company. You'll drive actuator characterization from bringup through design verification and build test methods and automation for production. This role spans mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software testing in a fast-paced robotics startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead actuator bringup, calibration, and functional verification
• Plan and execute design validation campaigns across mechanical, electrical, and system domains
• Develop production test methods including scripts, pass/fail criteria, and operator documentation
• Build Python-based test automation and data analysis tools
• Diagnose actuator performance issues across firmware, electrical, and mechanical domains

📋 Requirements

• Hands-on experience testing and characterizing actuators, motors, or gearboxes
• Motor bringup and calibration workflow experience with firmware/electrical fluency
• Strong cross-disciplinary debugging across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains
• Production-grade Python for test automation and data analysis
• Test method design including pass/fail criteria and handoff documentation

✨ Nice to Have

• Humanoid or legged robot actuator experience
• Thermal modeling and test methods for electric motors
• System identification background (frequency-domain, bandwidth measurement)
