Description

You will lead therapeutic activity services in an acute geriatric psychiatry hospital, designing evidence-based programs to support patient stabilization and recovery. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate activities into treatment plans and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Experience in recreational therapy or similar role in geriatric psychiatry
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission)
• Leadership and supervisory skills
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance comprehensive therapeutic activities program aligned with best practices and patient needs
• Oversee group and individualized therapeutic interventions and ensure alignment with patient treatment plans
• Lead, supervise, and develop Recreation Coordinators, students, interns, and volunteers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to integrate therapeutic programming into care plans
• Ensure accurate, timely EMR documentation and conduct audits for compliance
