💼 About This Role

You'll lead the Control Planes Ecosystem Group, owning strategy and execution for customer-facing control plane experiences across Crossplane, Upbound Cloud, and the Marketplace. Your core impact will be scaling teams, defining long-term architecture, and shaping how enterprises adopt programmable control planes. This senior role offers the chance to build the ecosystem layer for AI-native infrastructure at a Series B company backed by top-tier VCs.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define and drive long-term vision for hosted control planes and ecosystem extensibility.
• Own Upbound Marketplace strategy as the distribution layer for providers and extensions.
• Lead managers and managers-of-managers across multiple engineering teams.
• Partner with Product, GTM, Alliances, and Customer Success to align strategy with revenue goals.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading managers of managers.
• 5+ years building or scaling cloud-native, infrastructure, or platform engineering products.
• Deep familiarity with Kubernetes and the Cloud Native ecosystem.
• Experience building SaaS control planes or distributed systems at scale.

• Experience with Crossplane and/or Kubernetes.
• Background in platform engineering or internal developer platforms.
• Experience building multi-tenant control plane architectures.
