💼 About This Role

You'll design and build a scalable, multi-country billing platform for a high-growth AI-powered insurtech scale-up. Your core impact is owning billing systems end-to-end, from data model to production, ensuring correctness where bugs cost real money. You'll partner with product, finance, legal, and carriers to turn regulatory requirements into clean, testable systems.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build a billing platform that scales from two countries to six
• Design and ship core billing capabilities: payment schedules, VAT logic, pro-rata refunds
• Own dunning flow across Adyen and Twikey with legal compliance
• Handle multi-entity invoicing across multiple legal entities

📋 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in TypeScript and AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, event-driven architectures)
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, data modeling, and API design
• Experience with idempotency, consistency, and audit trails in money-moving systems

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with payment providers like Adyen, Stripe, or Twikey
• Background in fintech, insurtech, or billing systems at scale
• Familiarity with VAT and multi-entity invoicing across EU markets
