💼 About This Role

You'll be at the heart of bringing the production system to life at K2 Space, a Series C startup building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to design and roll out automation projects that scale production. This role offers ownership and impact in a fast-paced environment unlike anywhere else.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless production automation across hardware and controls.
• Design and develop electromechanical automation assemblies in-house or through vendors.
• Own hands-on buildout, activation, and qualification of automation and controls projects.
• Shape and implement HMI strategy and PLC automation for repeatable operation.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials, or related engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or hands-on engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls in production.
• Strong hands-on aptitude and willingness to work directly with hardware on the production floor.

• Full-stack experience with industrial automation hardware controls, PLC/HMI/Robotics software stacks.
• Exposure to space, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience designing automation systems for manufacturability and developing production processes from the ground up.
