Description

As a Senior Staff Back-end Engineer at Coupang Pay, you will define the technical direction of core payment domains and design stable, scalable fintech systems handling massive traffic. You will own payment services including Korea's first one-touch payment system, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. Collaborate with accounting, treasury, and fintech teams to architect and improve payment back-office and settlement systems.

Requirements

• 15+ years of backend development experience
• Experience with Java and Spring Framework
• Expertise in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
• Strong system design skills considering performance, reliability, data integrity, and security
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive business impact

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction for core payment domains

• Own technical aspects of payment services including one-touch payment
• Lead architecture of payment back-office and settlement systems
• Elevate engineering standards through code and design reviews
