Description

Lead the origination and progression of large-scale battery storage and hybrid energy projects across Australia, taking projects from early identification to ready-to-build stage. You'll shape Akaysha's Australian development pipeline by combining strategic origination with disciplined project development, working closely with commercial teams to deliver technically viable and commercially robust projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience developing large-scale renewable or energy infrastructure projects, ideally across battery or hybrid assets
  • Strong understanding of electricity markets, planning policy, grid infrastructure and interconnection processes
  • Proven success progressing projects from greenfield through to RTB or investment decision
  • Commercial and financial capability, including a thorough understanding of project returns, risk and investment alignment
  • Experience engaging landowners, communities, regulators and development partners
  • A leadership style that balances ambition with disciplined risk judgement, enabling teams to deliver complex outcomes under tight timeframes

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new battery storage and hybrid energy opportunities based on market, regulatory and commercial factors
  • Develop and evaluate early-stage project concepts, including site identification, grid and commercial feasibility considerations
  • Lead the progression of projects through the development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with strategic, commercial and feasibility requirements
  • Provide strategic oversight and input into land acquisition, planning approvals, and technical feasibility assessments
  • Support the progression of projects through development stages by advising on risks, feasibility and strategic priorities
  • Advise on development decisions to ensure alignment with project bankability and long-term portfolio value
  • Develop and guide stakeholder engagement strategies, including engagement with landowners, communities and regulators
