Description

You will support the materials backbone of the KARNO Power Module by developing, testing, and qualifying advanced metallic alloys that ensure clean and efficient operation. You will analyze material behavior under extreme conditions and translate findings into design guidance and durability improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in metallurgical engineering or materials science.
  • 5+ years working with metals and materials characterization.
  • Strong background in fatigue, creep, oxidation, and thermal-mechanical degradation.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical testing, microstructural evaluation, and failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with high-temperature alloys, surface treatments, and joining methods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation and down-selection of high-temperature alloys for KARNO components.
  • Conduct microstructural and mechanical characterization to confirm performance targets.
  • Plan and execute material tests including tensile, creep, fatigue, and oxidation evaluations.
  • Support additive manufacturing by assessing metal powders and connecting material properties to process parameters.
  • Investigate component failures and translate findings into design improvements.
