Description

You will provide front-line legal support to PEO product and operations teams, drive legal compliance workstreams, and advise on risk, product design, and employment obligations. This is an opportunity to shape Gusto's PEO offerings and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver compliant products for small businesses.

Requirements

• 7+ years of legal experience including in-house experience at a technology company
• Experience in employment law, litigation, and product counseling
• PEO experience strongly preferred
• Deep experience providing pragmatic legal guidance on tech products and employment obligations
• JD degree and membership in a State bar with current license to practice law

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line legal support to PEO product and operations teams
• Drive legal and compliance workstreams for pre-launch milestones and Go-to-Market readiness
• Advise on risk, product design, features, and operational workflows regarding employment, payroll, HR, and licensing requirements
• Develop actionable guidance, templates, and internal training for PEO-related products
• Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Finance, and Operations teams
