Description

Join Temporal's Cloud Enablement team to design and build backend systems that power the replication stack for Temporal Cloud, enabling high availability, automated failover, and namespace migration. You'll own features end-to-end, contribute to production reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade capabilities that ensure correctness, observability, and safety at scale.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing and building distributed backend systems with focus on reliability and scalability
• Hands-on experience operating production systems, debugging failures, and improving observability
• Experience developing highly concurrent systems, preferably in Go (Java or similar acceptable)
• Solid understanding of failure modes, replication, and resiliency patterns in distributed systems
• Ability to independently drive work from problem definition to delivery, collaborating with peers

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend features extending the Temporal OSS replication stack for new Cloud capabilities
• Contribute to High Availability features: namespace replication across regions/cloud providers, monitoring replication health, supporting failover workflows
• Build and improve namespace migration systems for self-hosted to Temporal Cloud and between environments/regions
• Own medium-to-large features end-to-end: design, production rollout, and long-term maintenance
• Ensure production readiness with service-level logs, metrics, tracing, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks
