Description

As a Spaceport Engineer at Starbase, you will serve as the internal 'City Engineer,' owning the permitting process for infrastructure developments and ensuring civil engineering projects meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation. You'll bridge the gap between internal teams, consultants, and local authorities, guiding cross-functional teams and streamlining workflows to support SpaceX's rapid iteration ethos.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas with ability to stamp and certify plans.
• 1+ years of experience in civil engineering including project management and permitting.
• Proven track record working with municipal authorities on infrastructure projects.
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends; willing to travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Own and review final plan documents from internal teams and external consultants, ensuring submission readiness.
• Develop standardized plan sets, minimum standards, and checklists for compliant engineering documents.
• Provide expert guidance on plan status and readiness assessments to streamline workflows.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and optimize designs.
• Stay current on civil engineering codes and best practices to support aggressive development timelines.
