💼 About This Role

You'll lead the factory automation strategy at Heron Power, building and managing a team of controls engineers. Your work will directly impact scaling production of advanced energy systems from pilot lines to mass production. This role offers the chance to define the controls roadmap and bridge OT/IT systems.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Hire, mentor, and lead a team of controls and automation engineers.
• Define the company's controls and automation roadmap and standards.
• Oversee controls engineering deliverables for capital equipment deployment.
• Collaborate with software teams to integrate machine data with MES and SCADA.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years in industrial automation with 3+ years in technical leadership.
• Expert-level machine programming (structured text, ladder logic, FBD).
• Deep proficiency across multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff).
• Experience leading design reviews and validating electrical schematics (NFPA 79).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience in power electronics, EV, or battery storage manufacturing.
• Built or significantly expanded a controls department from the ground up.
• Expertise in virtual commissioning using Digital Twin or emulation software.
