💼 About This Role

You'll lead the development of sensor and system-level simulation workflows for an end-to-end learned driving stack at Toyota Research Institute. Your work will enable closed-loop validation and synthetic data generation to improve the full-stack driving policy. This role bridges cutting-edge research with product impact across Toyota's global AI efforts.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build visually realistic simulators to test end-to-end autonomy stack behavior.
• Prototype and integrate internal and third-party simulators for learned system testing.
• Build data logging frameworks for large-scale virtual tests.
• Collaborate with autonomy, ML, and integration teams to define simulation metrics.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or simulation.
• Experience with 3D reconstruction (e.g., Gaussian Splatting, NeRF).
• Strong programming skills in Python and C++ for robotics or systems.
• Experience with simulation platforms (e.g., CARLA, Applied Intuition, Nvidia DriveSim).

✨ Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience validating ML-based autonomy stacks in closed-loop simulation.
• Knowledge of scenario generation, rare event simulation, or counterfactual testing.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud compute platforms.
