Description
You will design, execute, and analyze tests simulating extreme conditions and misuse scenarios to ensure product safety, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to identify failure modes and intentionally abuse complex electromechanical systems in a controlled environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, EE, ME or related field
- Strong understanding of physics and physics of failure
- Proven experience with abuse tests, specifically UL9540a and thermal propagation testing
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (MATLAB, Minitab, Python)
- Experience designing data acquisition rigs and actuation systems
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze abuse tests (short circuit, overvoltage, overheat, overcharge, thermal propagation)
- Build and define test infrastructure for fast, safe, documented testing
- Identify potential failure modes and stress them in controlled environment
- Collaborate with design engineers to improve product robustness
- Document test results and provide insights
