Description

You will serve as Alcazar Energy's main local interface for environmental and social matters, coordinating ESIA development, managing stakeholder engagement, and overseeing E&S performance during project phases. This role involves ensuring compliance with international standards, facilitating training, and supporting community initiatives to drive sustainable energy projects. You'll work closely with technical teams, consultants, and local stakeholders to address risks and promote environmental protection and socio-economic development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject such as Environmental discipline, Engineering, International Development or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in environmental protection and permitting, non-governmental organisations, or similar role
• Previous experience in environmental and social management and stakeholder engagement in accordance with international standards
• Previous experience in organisation with strong E&S culture and in internationally financed projects
• Previous experience with Developer, E&S Consultancy, development financial institution and/or governmental institution
• Significant experience in front-end environmental and social studies and assessments as well as environmental permitting
• Passionate about environmental protection and socio-economic development
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Egyptian National
• Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English
• Current valid driving license and ability to drive to site

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with landowners, local communities, and wider stakeholders
• Representing Alcazar Energy for all E&S related matters
• Coordinating site-based tasks of E&S consultants during ESIA development
• Monitoring progress of ESIA process and reviewing deliverables
• Planning and managing stakeholder engagement activities and disclosure of ESIA information
• Participating in development and implementation of Stakeholder Engagement Plan
• Supporting coordination of Lenders' Environmental and Social Due Diligence
• Being first point of contact for grievance management according to Project's Grievance Mechanism
• Monitoring and reporting on E&S performance of consultants, service providers, and contractors
• Overseeing development and implementation of Project-specific QHSEMS
• Providing on-the-ground support to Technical team and Country/Business Development Manager
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of environmental and social standards and legislation
• Facilitating training sessions for local team and contractor workforce
• Providing guidance and supervision to CLO for community engagement
• Supporting identification and implementation of social investment initiatives
• Promoting awareness of social responsibility within the organization
• Supporting liaison with Government Officials and relevant stakeholders
